BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, MEXICO: NEW INFORMATION FOR THE
VISITOR
En diciembre de 1993 la Sierra de San Francisco se declaró Patrimonio
Cultural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Para poder proteger
esta herencia cultural para las próximas generaciones, el Instituto
Nacional de Antropología e Historia, la Asociación Civil
"Amigos de Sudcalifornia" (AMISUD), el Gobierno del
Estado de Baja California Sur, el Instituto Getty de Conservación
(GCI) y la gente de la Sierra de San Francisco se dieron a la tarea
de diseñar y implementar nuevas medidas de conservación para la Sierra de
San Francisco.
In December, 1993 the Sierra de San Francsico was named as a World
Heritage Site by UNESCO. In order to better protect this
irreplaceable cultural heritage for future generations, the Instituto
Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH), the civic group
"Amigos de Sudcalifornia" (AMISUD), the State of Baja
California Sur, the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI),
and the people of the Sierra de San Francisco together have
designed and are now implementing a new management plan for the Sierra
de San Francsico.
