ARARA Nominations for Officers and Board Members

ARARA is governed by officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and a Board of Directors (four). All are elected by the membership, the Officers in even-numbered years and the Board members in odd-numbered years. The qualifications for standing as a candidate are membership in ARARA and a willingness to serve the organization. To be an effective and viable organization, it is critically important that members step forward to serve in these positions.

Currently the Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for Officer positions, for the election in Spring of 2010. To nominate someone for a position, please contact the Nominating Committee. More details here.

Message from Bill Hyder, chair of the Nominations Committee for the 2010 Elections:
ARARA is a volunteer organization and can be successful only if the membership is willing to give its time by serving as an officer or as a board member. The Nominating Committee is working hard on a slate of candidates for the election of officers for the coming year. In addition to the Nominating Committee, ARARA Bylaws Article VII, Section 2 provides that:

“It shall be the privilege of any five members of ARARA to nominate in writing or email with RSVP a willing candidate who is a voting member, or, if there is more than one position to be filled, candidates not exceeding the number of positions to be filled by March 1. This statement shall certify that the nominee(s) will accept the nomination(s).”

Current incumbent officers are eligible for re-election and they include: President: Evelyn Billo, Vice President: John Greer, Secretary: Caroline Maddock, Treasurer: Garry Gillette

In the past some members have complained about not having enough choices in elections. This lack of choice is not due to any lack of effort on the part of the Nominating Committee. Now is your chance to promote choice by volunteering or by suggesting the nomination of someone who is willing to serve. In the absence of any such actions, the nominating will present its slate to the Board. Step up to the plate! You could be just the candidate we’re always looking for!
