Home > For Young Scholars
ARARA strongly encourages young scholars to add knowledge and understanding of rock to their skills, whether their interests involve branches of archaeology, ethnography, art history, linguistics, or other fields. With great advances in the dating of rock art, step by step, and with increasing ability to link rock art with particular cultures, whether with archaeological cultures or with their descendants in near-present or present-day cultures, rock art is becoming more and more accepted in academic archaeology. Our web site now includes far more information to assist you, on many topics and on many pages (which you can find from the Home page). Here are a few of particular interest:

Click here. Rock Art in Universities
Students are encouraged to attend and participate in all ARARA events, including offering presentations for our annual conferences. ARARA has published a book of research by graduate students, Making Marks, available here along with our other publications.
The Colorado Archaeological Society has an Alice Hamilton scholarship for Coloradoans here http://www.coloradoarchaeology.org/a_hamilton.htm
This page specifically devoted to support for young scholars is new, and still very much in process of development.
