Field trips will be on Friday May 22 or on Monday May 25.

Individuals or groups (up to four persons wishing to be assigned together) may apply to be assigned to a field trip. Each individual can apply only once, either alone or as member of a single group.

Each Group must choose a single individual as their representative and only that individual submits an application form. That gives everyone an equal chance. Only that individual will receive notification of field trip assignments, and must communicate that information to other members of the Group.

All trips are assigned in a single lottery. There are not two separate lotteries, one for Friday and a different one for Monday.
A second round of field trip assignments will be carried out only if there are still places remaining after all applications received by the deadline have been assigned trips in the first round. There are likely to be few places remaining for a second round. <<The lottery order from the first round of field trip assignments will be used in reverse order for any such second round of assignments.>>

Here follows the form to apply to participate in field trips and to indicate your first (most preferred) through sixth preferences. To maximize your chances to get a trip you prefer, mark one trip in each of the six columns. This application form will not allow you to mark two trips in the same column. But it is up to you to avoid choosing the same trip in more than one column, thus "wasting" one of your possible preferences.

Check this box to indicate that either day is OK for any field trip requested above. This in effect enables you to rank more choices of field trips to different sites. It also allows the co-ordinators slightly more flexibility to get everyone a field trip assignment higher on their list of rankings. But for trips which are tightly integrated into your travel routes and times to or from the annual conference location, or if your flexibility on days is limited, you may not wish to check this box.
