Entry RULES
THEME:
Rock Art: The Importance of Cultural Heritage
Actual rock art panels may NOT be reproduced or replicated. Elements should be combined in an ORIGINAL hand-drawn artistic expression. Words and slogans or computer generated images or photographs may not be used.
SIZE
No smaller than 8 ½ x 11 inches
No larger than 12 x 18 inches
Entry form should be paper clipped to the back of the poster which includes artist’s name, age, and contact information.
Media
Posters may be created using color pencil, chalk (fixed with hair spray or artist’s fixatif), water colors or tempura paint, graphite pencil, crayon, or markers.
Please do NOT use feathers, beads, noodles, rice, or other three-dimensional objects. Any collage items should be flat.
Please do not laminate posters.
Paper needs to be white (no colored paper backgrounds).
Judging
Posters will be judged on adherence to the theme and message, skilled artwork, and aesthetic value/visual impact.
A panel of local judges will narrow entries down to the most qualified.
Final winner(s) will be chosen by Education Committee.
AWARDS
Prizes:
Certificates of Entry awarded for each participant. Entries will be displayed during the ARARA conference.
Note cards will be made from the top posters and awarded to those artists.
Cash prizes.
Winner(s) will be invited to the reception Friday night (May 19) at Edge of the Cedars.
